At the first formal meeting of the Northern Ireland Policing Board today, Members unanimously recorded thanks to the police for their work in responding to the bomb attack on the Court House in Derry/Londonderry and the subsequent series of hoax devices.
Board Chair Anne Connolly said:
“The bomb and hoaxes brought serious disruption to the lives and livelihoods of people in the City and Board Members today wanted to send a strong message of support and thanks to our police officers, the other emergency services and all the people who have been directly impacted by the reckless actions of those responsible for leaving this device.
The strength of cross community condemnation following the attack sends a clear message that those responsible have no place in our community and this unity of message is shared by all Board Members.”
Ends.
