“The HMICFRS 2020 Inspection Report published today provides a graded assessment of how well the Police Service of Northern Ireland is performing and outlines areas for improvement.
It is welcome that HMI’s overall finding across the many areas examined during the course of the Inspection are deemed to be good and highlight programmes of work already progressed which have contributed to improving the policing service delivered.
Given the Board’s oversight responsibilities, there are some findings and recommendations for further improvement included within the Report which will require more detailed exploration with the HMI and the Chief Constable. The Board looks forward to these discussions at the October Board meeting.”
