Policing Board Members have agreed to ask the Justice Minister to commission Her Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary / Criminal Justice Inspection Northern Ireland to undertake a review of the Disclosure Process for Coronial Inquests.
Board Chair Anne Connolly said:
“Board Members are concerned about the impact that delays and issues around the disclosure process for Coronial Inquests have on confidence in policing.
The Board has raised a series of questions with the PSNI around the disclosure process and now wishes to be satisfied, through independent review, that the systems and processes are efficient and effective.”
