When do PSNI plan to publish either the full or summarised YURTA report?
Answer
There are no plans to publish either the full or summarised version of the Op YURTA report.
The report was not commissioned or written in a format for publication. As it was written by a then QC, it is legally and professionally privileged. It is internal in its nature and focuses solely on the actions taken by the Police Service. As such, no persons were interviewed or spoken to in the review and no views or right of reply have been sought from those in the Police Service who were involved in the Finepoint Film case.
In addition, there is an ongoing Investigatory Powers Tribunal examining the very issues addressed within Neasa Murnaghan KC’s report and any release would inevitably impact proceedings.
Key findings and subsequent update reports have been shared with the Policing Board.
