Could the Chief Constable outline how many complaints have been made by members of the public about the conduct of members of the Source Handling Unit of the Professional Standards Department each year since 2019 and how many are;
(a) currently the subject of a criminal investigation or
(b) are considered not to be criminal complaints and either
(1) other investigations have been undertaken in response to the complaints or (2) no investigation at all has occurred?
Answer
This information is not held by Professional Standards Department (PSD), due to public complaints being reported to and investigated by the Office of the Police Ombudsman. The Source Handling Unit in PSD was closed in April 2021.
