The Northern Ireland Policing Board has appointed ACC Drew Harris as the new Deputy Chief Constable (DCC) of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
Board Chair and Chair of the Appointment panel Anne Connolly said:
“I am delighted to confirm that ACC Harris is the new Deputy Chief Constable of the PSNI.
He brings immense experience and knowledge of policing to the job and will have a key role in supporting the Chief Constable and colleagues in leading the PSNI forward.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the unsuccessful candidate for their interest in the post and also Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Finlay for his work over the last number of months.”

1. The appointment of a new Deputy Chief Constable is made by the Policing Board in accordance with Section 35 of the Police (NI) Act 2000. The appointment was subject to the approval of the Justice Minister.
2. The salary for this position is in accordance with nationally agreed Chief Officers Pay Structure which is currently £158,829 per annum plus benefits.
